Because I have always been a collector of erotic art and pinup books, I made a decision in 1996 when the Internet became more common: I built a website dedicated to erotic art. It was my purpose to expose the work of famous and not-yet-known artists, and my idea was to bring the finest erotic art to the attention of a worldwide audience for free. On my journey to find new talent, I came across many artists whose work I then featured on my website, The Erotic Art Index. By 1998, my website was growing and attracting more and more visitors, and I saw the art of a guy living in New York named Ken Martin. I hadn't heard of him before, but his art was amazingly good. Beautiful colors, and very importantly: a style of his own. He was very talented, and we made contact by e-mail. I immediately added a selection of his work to the website.
A lot of visitors came to my site and got to know his work, and I received email from all over the world asking who this promising artist was? "Well", I told them "it is a very friendly guy who is making his way to the top in the world of erotic art!" More and more of Ken's work appeared and every painting was better than the one before. I updated my pages frequently to show his new work.
Then came September 11,2oo1, a big shock for the whole world, and I was worried because I knew Ken was living in New York. We exchanged email, and luckily he and his family were all right. This dramatic happening inspired him to make a masterpiece: a pinup in black & white in a stars & stripes swimsuit, in front of the American flag. It showed his dedication to his country. I admire his work, and I am sure you will enjoy this book full of masterpieces. I know I will!
So, what more can I say than: Ladies and gentleman, I am proud to present the beautiful work of Ken Martin.
